Juniper Scores SD-WAN Win With CMC Networks

CMC networks this week combined Juniper Networks’ SD-WAN and Mist stages to its regulated services portfolio.

The partnership grows on the South African service provider’s enduring relationship with SD-WAN vendor 128 Technologies, which Juniper obtained for $450 million late last year.

At the core of the contribution is Juniper’s Session Smart Router, which operates as a software router competent for running on simple metal or in a virtual machine.

While every SD-WAN vendor ensures increased network performance and security, few SD-WAN vendors can achieve the level of clarity and intelligence provided by Juniper’s SD-WAN and Mist AI platforms, CMC CTO Geoff Dornan said in a report.

CMC began using the SD-WAN platform in 2018 in partnership with 128 Technologies. The organization declared an expanded association that takes advantage of Juniper’s widespread routing holdings. It includes normalizing the vendor’s service and topology exchange protocol (STEP) and secure vector routing (SVR) ability.

STEP reduces stays to ensure consistent user experiences by routing traffic over the most powerful performing WAN link. In association with SVR, the platform automatically reroutes traffic to bypass disturbances.

Ultimately, CMC contributes some of Juniper’s Mist services, including WAN Assurance and the Marvis virtual network assistant.

Declared in July 2020, WAN Assurance forms on artificial intelligence (AI) skills gained from Mist to detect, contextualize, and remediate network interruptions. If, for example, a Zoom call were to drop, WAN assurance automatically examines the cause of the disorder and, in some cases, remediates the issue.

Additionally, Juniper’s Marvis virtual assistant appears beside Mist’s WAN capabilities. Marvis takes Mist’s existing AI operations platform and makes it fully interactive. Sooner than telling you the climate, playing some tunes, or setting on your lights like Amazon’s Alexa might, Marvis’s goal is to help customers recognize and address exceptions.

128 Technology boosts Juniper Growth

Juniper CEO Rami Rahim requested the company’s recent purchases, which include 128 Technologies, Apstra, and Netrounds, key growth operators during the company’s first-quarter 2021 profits call in April.

He said at the time that they are noticing great early interest in Apstra, 128 Technologies, and NetRounds. It is increasing its space in many engaging top businesses and enhancing the achievement of the wide Juniper portfolio.

In the track of the acquisitions, Juniper has pushed aggressively to build itself not only as a qualified SD-WAN vendor but in the emerging secure access service edge (SASE) space. Nevertheless, the company still has a ways to go before it can fully meet its networking and security portfolios.

Beginning this spring, the merchant took its first move into the SASE waters, with the launch of Juniper Security Director Cloud. The stage is a central management console for maintaining security policies, regardless of whether they’re for services operating on-premises or in the cloud.

Kate Adam, Juniper’s senior director of security product marketing, in an earlier interview, said that they are taking a very distinctive approach than some of their opponents in the market when it comes to SASE.
