Oracle Verrazzano Targets Multi Cloud Container Management

Beginning this month, Oracle issued its Verrazzano container floor. The open-source, subscription-based DevOps platform operates on top of Kubernetes and enables users to deploy, control, and secure container applications on any Kubernetes cluster where Oracle’s container platform gets installed.

What David Cabelus told in an interview?

Oracle product manager David Cabelus told in an interview that they do watch Kubernetes as the orchestration engine of choice. But that by itself isn’t adequate to resolve all these problems.

Verrazzona Goals

Verrazzano’s major goals are to allow customers to maintain their investment in existing applications, facilitate the adoption of modern application development architectures, and drive apps in any cloud environment users prefer.

Cabelus said that their strategy to accomplish this begins with a known set of open-source technologies that wouldn’t want users to learn completely new systems. They’re trying to make it as simple and consistent as feasible.

Paddling through a sea of data can be difficult for a sales representative to paddle through. Still, they must stay up to date on the newest tech developments.

‘Cloud Agnostic’ Model Recommends Flexibility

Verrazzano is relative to Red Hat’s OpenShift platform, though Cabelus said Oracle has made things a little separately.

Oracle’s platform concentrates on relieving common customer pain cases and giving a positive user experience, Cabelus said. Verrazzano tech support is also available for supporters.

Another differentiating part is Verrazzano’s multi-cloud design, according to Cabelus. Verrazzano’s “cloud-agnostic” model gives users a convenient location from which they can operate workloads in different areas.

CNCF Donation ‘A Conversation Piece’

Oracle has a past of serving with the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), though Cabelus said there is no current plan to provide Verrazzano to the CNCF.

Oracle takes the most advanced stable version and implements fix from the community when needed.

Cabelus said that they don’t want to have to fork stories. It doesn’t help anybody. They do support more community information, although a lot of these [fixes] have been led by Oracle.
